Many may wonder why he’s going to CNN+ amid a battle for viewers and ratings between two giants like Fox News and CNN, but Wallace, who’s been in the industry for more than 50 years, said he wants to try something new beyond the reach of politics.

Specifically, Wallace stated: “I want to try something new, to go beyond politics to all the things I’m interested in. I’m ready for a new adventure. And I hope you’ll check it out.”

CNN+ is a streaming service that should be launching sometime in 2022.

Wallace said he’s thrilled to join CNN+ after all this time in cable news and broadcasting. He also said “I am excited to explore the world of streaming. I look forward to the new freedom and flexibility streaming affords in interviewing new ways to tell stories.”
