Houston Police Department revealed that a suspect attempted to rob two shops, including a gun store, before being shot and killed by an employee. It appears that the suspect may have never heard the old saying clearly ‘don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.’
It happened at Carter’s Country, which is located on the Southwest Freeway and 11800 South Wilcrestt Drive. Witnesses told police that the man tried stealing some goods from the Suit Mart next door before entering the gun store.
“The guy looked like he was a homeless person,” said witness Marcus Fomby. “Basically, they told him to just let go of the jeans, or we’ll call the police.”
The man allegedly entered the gun store with a sharp object after leaving the Suit Mart, opened the cash register, and grabbed the money. As the suspect was exiting the shop, the employee stated that he had to shoot the robber in self-defense.
“Once he went there (the gun shop), he actually went behind the counter (and) started ruffling through the cash register,” HPD Lt. Larry Crowson said. “He was confronted by one of the employees, at that point, one of the employees felt in fear of their safety and fired two shots, at least one struck.”
According to witnesses, the man walked into the parking lot before passing out. According to Houston Police Department, he was rushed to the hospital in severe condition and eventually passed away there.
The case will be sent to a grand jury for evaluation following the consultation with Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
All possible witnesses are encouraged to call the HPD Homicide Division and reveal all information they might have.
This is not the only tragic incident that happened in Harris County District lately. Related news reveal:

There was nothing much to do at the scene, but to pronounce the suspected male dead.
Police said, after the man kicked the front door of the unidentified woman, she shot the suspected stalker. She had recently moved to get away from the man, but he obviously found out where she lived as she told the police, a report said.
They said that the police found damage to the woman’s door frame. And during the incident, other people were inside the residence.
