The deadline for NFL trade is 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, and we already have a massive trade blockbuster.
Denver Broncos’ outside linebacker Von Miller will be traded to the LA Rams in exchange for several 2022 draft picks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Welcome to sack city, Von!
The thirty-two-year-old has played in the NFL for 11 seasons, all with the Broncos. He’s an eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. He was named Super Bowl MVP after playing a vital role in the Broncos’ victory in Super Bowl 50. He’s well-liked in Denver not only for what he does on the field but also for what he does off the field. Von’s Vision Foundation, which provides free eye exams and glasses to children in Denver, was founded by him, and he has done events in the Denver community for many years.
Miller and the Broncos are saying their goodbyes. Denver is getting closer to a rebuild with each passing day, and Teddy Bridgewater is currently flailing aimlessly at quarterback. They’re 4-4 this season, and Miller will be a free agent next year. Trading him now provides the Broncos with second and third-round draft picks, allowing them to begin the long-awaited rebuild.
Miller will now join the Rams’ defense, where he will team up with Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey to frighten opposing offenses across the league. Miller has 4.5 sacks, and nine QB hits in 2021, a solid comeback after missing the entire 2020 season due to an ankle injury. Miller has 110.5 sacks, 225 QB hits, and 142 tackles for loss in his 11-year career.
Miller was injured in the Broncos’ Week 7 game and did not play in the Broncos’ win over Washington on Sunday. Miller, according to Schefter, will make his debut with the Rams in Week 9.
