The Tennessee Titans are hoping for a potential January return of their star player Derrick Henry from his foot injury.
Besides just the fact that they will be getting their running back on the pitch, this would be perfect timing for his return as the Playoffs are also beginning in this period of the season.
Although he remained in their Week 8 game and helped the Titans to a 34-31 overtime win even after he injured his foot, it was reported later that the injury could be a season-ending Jones fracture. But now the Titans are very optimistic of his potential return, as it turns out, the injury could require an eight-week recovery period, which would mean that his timetable is set for January, according to reports.
The 27-year-old running back missed only two games in his first five seasons despite a huge workload in a demanding position, so every game he misses now is already a huge blow for the team from Nashville, Tennessee.
His start of the season was very impressive, as his 219 carries through eight weeks of 2021 were 70 more than anyone else in the league. In both 2019 and 2020, Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts, but one of the best seasons in NFL history was when he totaled 2,027 rushing yards in 2020.
And he continued to play above expectations in 2021 prior to the injury with 937 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games.
So it goes without saying that the Titans (8-2) will have a major boost for their championship run in the Playoff if Derrick Henry returns to the team at the best possible time.
